February 5, 2017 | 1 pm onwards | Festival Grounds

One little boy said to his mommy,
Can I help you set the table today?
Mommy said, you’ll break the glass,
Daddy said, you’ll drop the plates,
Grandpa said, cooking is not for boys,
The boy’s confidence went for a toss.

One little girl said, I’ll make sandwiches.
Grandma recited recipe, daddy safety tips,
Mommy cut veggies, grandpa all dos & don’ts;
Grandma ground spices, sister laid the table,
The kid’s imagination and enthusiasm died,

Sons or daughters let them be fancy free
Blend the butter, spill the sugar
Go clumsy with colors, topple the toppings
The world will not go hungry or poor
Brightness n bounce, spice and sugar
Will enter their lives and will stay there.
PowaiFest, as our life is, is all about the basics. Food, in our own tradition, is something holy. It's not about nutrients and calories. It's about sharing. It's about honesty. It's about identity. Food is an integral part of every one’s life. The poorer the eater, the more the effort to make food more appetizing, and appealing; the better the eater, the more are we motivated to introduce variety and experiment. Either way, our obsession with food is here to stay. It comes in a different form, because what begins when you are young, stays with you for ever. 'The Muffin Master’ is designed to catch your kids young.

February 5, 2017 will bring you the much-awaited ‘Muffin Masters’. Last year you all thronged in large numbers for our Kitchen Challengers. Yellow Chillies was abuzz with excitement. The passion in your participation and flurry of activity made Powai such a warm and beautiful place. Thank you all!
